hisoka SG i have the same problem with my mum accepting all sorts of nonsense from emails and what webbies........ always have to scan with virus and anti spyware after she uses
Wanda SG Good luck, bear! In other news, I am thinking of setting up a network at home...linking SO's and my pc. I don't need any software for that, right?
the Bear SG the technical bits, i dunno... anyway, i wish they don't have to go into the graphic descriptions of placentas and all that
fudgester SG Okay... my laptop is seriously, seriously screwed up. I unplugged it from the power socket... I was planning to move my laptop to my bedroom so that I could lie down while working on it. Then suddenly, just a couple of minutes after I unplugged it, I heard an audible 'crack' sound from the laptop... and the screen went blank. As it turns out, the battery has malfunctioned once more. My laptop would not be able to detect the battery at all, and as such is totally dependent on AC power. This has happened before a few months ago... unfortunately, it's not covered under the warranty, and the tech told me that I would have to shell out over $100 for a new battery... which I'm obviously unwilling to spend on. Ladies and gentlemen.... this just another reason why you should never, EVER buy a Toshiba laptop.
elindra SG Morning folks, can anyone advise who is this Crystal Dumpling listed under the 18 Chefs outing?
hisoka SG my friend had to have her screen changed every 1-3 months. and yes it was a toshiba lappy.....
Wanda SG Sorry about your laptop battery, fudgie. How long have you had that laptop? I am so tired...
the Bear SG she dropped in occasionally and is still undecided.. will ask her soon.. but i don't think she wants the baked rice
elindra SG Ok. I'll just list her in then Bear You keep in contact with her coz I have no idea who she is Also yesterday someone jumped at Tampines MRT I was wondering if someone jumped coz when I was at the MRT they had this annoucement that they just resumed service Good thing I left the office late ><
fudgester SG Just under three years. So this means that this piece of crap has had its RAM chips, DVD-ROM drive, wireless card, and battery all malfunctioning and requiring replacement in its three years of existence. I can't believe that I spent $2600 on this piece of nonsense. Unfortunately, laptops were a lot more expensive then when I was a freshman, and this was a standard model which I bought through NUS at a subsidised rate. *me hurls profanities at the laptop*
hisoka SG erm i bought my laptop from nus 3 years ago too, fujitsu and it was about 2.8 or 2.9k. toshiba so expensive? but fujitsu no probs
stellazio SG fudgie, is yours the blue colour toshiba lappy that requires a wireless carD? yeah toshiba sucks, my sch gave it up after 2 years. too much problem for them. for free anti virus, you just gotta use the cracked version of nod32. its the best around.
hisoka SG was reading today, apparently not only food from china got problems, indian flour seems to be poisonious too
elindra SG Sigh I guess every country have it's food safety issue It's like Japan's SNOW brand had it's scandal some yrs back as well. Just that in China it's on a totally new lvl
fudgester SG *me wipes a tear* Anyway, my laptop's a Tecra M2V. Pretty standard model for its time... though by now there are a lot of cheaper and more powerful laptops out there right now. If you ask me, I would recommend Lenovo. All my friends who bought IBM laptops have sung praises of its reliability as a workhorse... and sniggered at us morons who have been snookered into buying a Toshiba laptop. Seriously, virtually everyone I know who's using a Toshiba laptop has nothing but contempt and derision for their machines.
stellazio SG i agree with you. i have never known 1 toshiba user in my sch who has never once sent it for repair. made in phillipines seems much worse then china or sth. heck my 2k dell laptop is still serving me fine.
